Synopsis

Vampirina, Poppy and Edgar get new neighbors.[2]

Plot

Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget are drawing on the ground, although Bridget is scared about the bats Vampirina painted coming to life, due to the Transylvanian chalk being magical. Edgar informs them about the neighbors coming. One of them is Drake, who introduces himself in a spooky voice. Vampirina and her friends introduce themselves. Drake states that he likes dark and spooky stuff, just like Vampirina. Drake is from somewhere far away. He is starting school tomorrow, and Vampirina and her friends will show him around. Drake then brings in one of the moving boxes inside and will see Vampirina and her friends tomorrow. Poppy and Bridget notice Drake being fast and really nice. Edgar is confused on Drake's statements and him not being suspicious to Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget. Edgar checks a book and notices Drake is a vampire. Vampirina doesn't know about it, as well as Poppy. Edgar will prove Drake is a vampire.

Later in school, Edgar tries to record Drake to find out if he's a vampire when Poppy interrupts him, followed by Vampirina and Bridget. After Vampirina mentions it, Edgar refuses to record Mr. Gore's pet hamster. He mentions the signs of vampires and what they do. Poppy tells Vampirina that everything will be fine, and it's not like Edgar will find anything. Once he realizes Drake is a human, he'll let it go. Drake tells Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget that nothing bothered him aside from the spraying drinking fountain Bridget was talking about. Vampirina reassures that Edgar gave up on looking for vampires when he arrives with the proof that Drake is a vampire. Poppy is against it, but Edgar reassures what vampires do and decides to keep looking. Vampirina is thinking that Edgar might be right about Drake being a vampire. She decides for her, Poppy, and Bridget to ask Oxana and Boris about it.

They haven't heard anything from the spooks or ghouls back in Transylvania, but Drake's family could be a vampire family from northern Transylvania, and tend to keep to themselves. Boris states that vampires come in all shapes and sizes, and that a book should never be judge by its cover. Demi shows an example to Gregoria. Boris and Oxana state that to spot a vampire, Vampirina should keep an eye out for the clues. If Drake is a vampire, the Hauntleys need to give him and his family a proper welcome to the neighborhood. Oxana will get some cobwebs to weave when Edgar and Drake are heading to Vampirina's house. If Drake is a vampire, Edgar will put him on Weekly Weirdness for everyone to see. Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget decide to head over there right away.

Edgar and Drake are discussing the former's web show when Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget arrive. They talk to Edgar, who decides to get more evidence. He decides to get Drake turning into a bat on camera when he really needs a friend. Edgar takes Drake to the kitchen for snacks before taking a picture of him. Poppy pushes Drake out of the way and the latter decides to check out Edgar's room. Vampirina, now as a bat, hides behind a door, and Drake wonders what it is. It is now Edgar's chance to prove Drake is a vampire. Vampirina states that the camera flash gave her the batties.

Drake and Edgar are discussing the latter's favorite things when Edgar takes a picture of Drake. It is revealed that Drake is a human. Edgar mentions the clues, but Drake states that there is no garlic breath on one's first day at a new school. Drake likes stuff that's different, so it takes kids a while to figure him out. Although Vampirina seemed different when she moved to Pennsylvania, her being different is cool, just like Drake, who has at least four friends at school now. It is also revealed that Drake likes Bigfoot. Edgar and Drake decide to work on the next Weekly Weirdness. Vampirina concludes that that's why one should never judge a ghoul or a human by their cover. Later, Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget tell Oxana and Boris that Drake is a human. Although Vampirina didn't get a new vampire friend, she has the world's best human friends, as does Drake.
